// STATEMENT
Working digitally is not to say that every piece needs a screen or some form of projected lighting. Digital medium is the every day- phones, computers and televisions become platforms for absorbing and exchanging information.
I believe that the most diverse artists have always been the greatest observers, and they typically pull inspiration from their immediate surroundings. My work is comprised from a mix of various subjects, figures, landscapes and abstracts which are accented with expressive gestural strokes and digital elements. I begin my process by stacking layers using a combination of digital and traditional media. This implies a narrative between spatial relationships; allowing an assimilation to be formed between the real world and cyberspace. My work becomes reflective of a culture in which television, cinema or any image on a screen has suddenly become an automatic resource for sending and receiving information.
The computer and digital interface potentially function as a medium to live in because they connect and separate the body, to and from, the digital world. At this point, the assimilation that takes place between the two worlds can never be true or real because the structure of the screen, projection or print inhibits the subject to a mere representation. That is the only comprehensible constraint that separates reality from cyberspace in the digital age.

Jerod “TeddyNIGELS” Sena is a Colorado native with a formal fine art education. He got his BFA from the Metropolitan State University of Denver with a concentration in digital art, and secondary sequences in drawing, painting and a minor in art history. Jerod’s artistic experiences span a variety of mediums and employ an array of elements; however, technology seems to be a prominent influence found throughout the oeuvre. His work is rooted in the fundamentals of modern electric tattooing, but he welcomes anything that allows him the opportunity to showcase an illustrative style, technical ability and diligent application.
